Ingredients

Main
  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, washed, trimmed, and halved
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated (plus more for serving)
  • 1 tbsp Balsamic glaze (optional, for drizzling)

Method

Main
  1. Trim the tough bottom stems off the Brussels sprouts, then cut them in half from top to bottom. Discard any loose, yellowing outer leaves.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with the olive oil, garlic powder, sea salt, and black pepper until they are evenly coated.
  3. Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese over the sprouts and toss again. Ensure the cheese gets into all the little crevices of the leaves.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place the seasoned Brussels sprouts into the air fryer basket in a single layer. (Cook in two batches if your air fryer is small; do not overcrowd the basket!).
  6. Air fry at 380°F for 10-12 minutes. Pause halfway through (at the 5-minute mark) to vigorously shake the basket, ensuring even cooking.
  7. The sprouts are done when they are fork-tender on the inside and have dark, crispy, deeply caramelized edges on the outside.
  8. Transfer to a serving bowl, sprinkle with a little extra parmesan cheese, and drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired. Serve immediately!
